Social Impact Solutions Co., Ltd. (HQ: Minato-ku, Tokyo), Technology Seed Incubation Co., Ltd. (HQ: Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture), and Tsucrea Co., Ltd. (HQ: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) in collaboration with the Tunisia University “Tunis El Manar University” had hold the “Technology Seeds Commercialization Workshop” to let graduate students in Tunisia to learn about the commercialization of technology seeds. The workshop was held 5 times in total from on February 3rd to March 16th, 2022.

■About the “Technology Seeds Commercialization Workshop”

This program is a special program originally designed and developed by Tsucrea Co., Ltd. for students in Japan and has been customized for foreign graduate students.
Through this workshop, the participated students will learn about the outlines of awareness rising, communication / interactions and output skills for commercialization. The contents of workshops include mindsets, creating & verifying the application hypothesis, building business model, presentations and etc.
We aim to cultivate the participant’s entrepreneurial opportunities by acquiring them the presentation skills for commercialization.

Participants: 14 science graduate students from Tunis El Manar University selected from 50 applicants

Day1 (February 3rd): Mindset & Application Hypothesis
Day2 (February 9th): Verification of Hypothesis
Day3 (February 16th): Building Business Model
Day4 (March 2nd): Presentation practice
Day5 (March 16th): Demo Day

■Event Report

Day1: Thursday, February 3rd
At the opening session of Day1, we have the greetings by Mr. Moez CHAFRA, President of Tunis El Manar University and Mr. Yoshiki Sasaki,CEO of SIPS Group. Mr. Ahmed Nouisser, CEO of Tunisian AI technology startup “iCompass” was on stage as a senior entrepreneur, talked about the starting story of their business, the encounter with the team members, the background of their technology commercialization, and cheers message to the participants.

Day2: Wednesday, February 9th
On Day2, the workshop focused on lectures of application hypothesis and hypothesis verification. In addition to the lectures on basic ideas and concrete examples, we had some works for participants to deepen their understanding. After the lecture, the participants divided into small groups to let the participants communicate and exchange their opinions. And lastly, Day 2 summary from the instructor.

Day3: Wednesday, February 16th
Day3 focused on work and presentations of pre-assigned homework. The participants presented their own created MVP pamphlet based on the lectures in Day1 and Day2. And the instructor gave some advices to each presenter.

Day4: Wednesday, March 2nd
Day4 focused on practicing the business ideas pitching to acquire the pitching skills. The instructors gave feedback and brushed up their ideas in preparing for the final day, “Demo Day,”

Day5: Wednesday, March 16th
On the final day of the program, the “Demo Day” where the participants took the stage and did their pitch presentation. Like the real pitch, the faculty members of Tunis El Manar University and the executive members of Tsucrea Co., Ltd., Technology Seed Incubation Co., Ltd. and Japan Strategic Capital Co., Ltd. participated as audiences with some questions and advices to the presenters. At the end, messages from the faculty members of Tunis El Manar University and some feedback and impression from the participants.
